Qing dynasty (1644 - 1912) China Pair of Horseshoe armchairs c. early 1700s rosewood

These Horseshoe shaped armchairs are beautifully constructed from several joined pieces of rosewood. The carved fretwork carvings which decorate the arms and the back of the chair are shaped in repeating ruyi patterns.
